How to change Main IP on Ubuntu

  1. For this example, we will use Ubuntu 12.04

  2. Use a text editor to open /etc/network/interfaces
    • # nano /etc/network/interfaces

  3. Modify the address, netmask, and gateway IPs to match your service profile page.

  4. Save those changes

  5. Restart the network
    • # /etc/init.d/networking restart

  6. Test by ping a website or an IP.
  7. Done!
